Journey’s from Calum’s Road in Raasay, Inner Hebrides, Scotland to the Ao-no-domon Tunnel in Oita Prefecture, Kyushu Japan.
Both ‘Calum’s Road’ and ‘Ao-no-domon Tunnel’ are feats of singular action, and have been engaged with during journeys by artist and performer Calum F Kerr. This site is an evolving record of the research and experience at these two locations. See ‘About the Journey Scotland / Japan‘ for the story behind the project and ‘Journey Posts‘ for the posts from 2015-2017.
The project continues in Japan April 2018 while in residence at Youkobo Art Space in Tokyo. There will be further exploration of these themes, searching for tunnels, natural and human-made iterations of durational endevour.
